FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept applications from students that don’t currently have the right to work in the UK or who know they will require visa/work permit sponsorship?
Yes. People of all nationalities are welcome to apply for any programme. We will work with successful applicants to help them secure visas and work permits where necessary.
Do you accept applications from graduates with a 2.2 degree qualification?
Unfortunately not. All students must achieve a 2.1 or a 1st class degree to be accepted onto our graduate programme. For candidates that are still studying while they go through our application and assessment process, we will look at their predicted grade and make a conditional offer if they pass the assessment centre. If you have less than a 2.1 but have extenuating circumstances to explain this, you are welcome to apply as long as you have proof to support your statement.
How strict are you about applicants having 300 UCAS points?
Very. We will not accept applications from students with less than 300 UCAS points. Again, if you have less than 300 UCAS points but have extenuating circumstances to explain the reason for this, you’re welcome to apply as long as you have proof to support your statement.
Do you accept General Studies A-level?
No. General Studies A-level does not count towards the 300 UCAS points minimum entry requirement.
Do you accept applications from candidates with any degree qualification?
Yes. However, some business areas will give preference to candidates that hold, or are studying towards, a degree in one of the relevant subjects listed on the individual programme pages.
What happens after the two-year programme? Am I guaranteed a permanent position?
Yes. All graduates are hired onto permanent contracts with a six-month probation period at the start. After a graduate has completed the intensive two-year training and development period they will progress from the programme into a business role, either in the same team that they were in during their time on the programme, or in a different team more suited to their skills and interests.
Can 1st year or final year undergraduates apply for the internship programme? What about postgraduates?
The only students eligible for our summer internship programme are penultimate year undergraduates. These could be either 2nd or 3rd year students depending on the length of their degree programme (three or four years respectively). Postgraduates are not eligible and neither are 1st year undergraduates or finalists.
Who can apply for the industrial placement scheme?
Any student that is required to undertake a professional work experience placement as part of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree programme. This could also be part of the ‘Year in Industry’ scheme although we do not accept pre-university gap year applicants.
What is the salary for the graduate/intern programme?
Our salaries are confidential and candidates will be told about the salary and benefits for their particular role once they receive an offer from us.
What is the start date of the intern / graduate programme?
The graduate and intern programmes for 2012 have now closed. Our 2013 intake will open for applications on 3rd September 2012. Register your interest here and be the first to hear about our new programmes and events.
